Leading national law firm, Piper Alderman, has announced the appointment of Megan Bishop, a new taxation partner in its Corporate team in the Melbourne office.
Megan Bishop has more than 14 years’ experience in State and Federal tax dispute resolution. She assists clients to navigate and manage State, Federal and inter-jurisdictional tax issues. Her technical acumen and results-oriented approach have fostered robust client partnerships.
Commenting on the decision to join Piper Alderman, Megan said:

Megan has represented a diverse client base in matters involving the revenue and tax regulatory authorities. From assisting with transactional phase risk mitigation strategy through to acting in the High Court, Megan works across the full spectrum. She has appeared in all Victorian and Federal tax Tribunals and Courts and numerous interstate ones. Beyond her legal credentials, Megan is also a certified mediator and holds a Chemical Engineering degree.
Megan is recognised for Tax Law in the 2025 edition of The Best Lawyers in Australia.
Christian Febbraro, an Associate with significant tax and litigation expertise will also join the team.
Christian was previously employed at the Australian Taxation Office, Tax Practitioners Board and has extensive experience working in professional services firms. He holds a double qualification as an admitted lawyer and as a Chartered Accountant (CA). Christian has completed a Masters of Laws at the University of Melbourne specialising in taxation.
Combined, Megan and Christian’s areas of specialisation include research and development taxes, employment taxes, trust tax issues, corporate and individual mobility related tax issues, transfer pricing, anti-avoidance considerations, State taxes, tax debt management and advising registered tax agents around their regulatory obligations.
