Gadens is pleased to announce the addition of two partners in the Intellectual Property and Technology group, marking a significant milestone for our growth in key strategic jurisdictions for the firm. Mitchell Wright joined our Canberra office in December 2024 and Adrian Chotar joined this month in Sydney. We were also pleased to welcome Senior Associate Stephanie Brown into the Sydney office who will support Adrian, Mitchell and the broader technology and privacy team.

Mitchell Wright is a partner in the Intellectual Property and Technology group in Canberra with an impressive background in technology law, specialising in technology, cyber and privacy law. His arrival strengthens our presence in the Australian Capital Territory, bolstering our ability to provide innovative legal solutions in Commonwealth and state government sectors.

Mitchell says on his joining the Gadens partnership:

“I am thrilled to be joining the Gadens team as it continues to invest in its offerings to the government-sector and the business community in Canberra. With the emergence of sovereignty and cyber security as key risks that need to be managed by Australian organisations, I am excited to leverage the benefits that a leading independent Australian law firm like Gadens can provide to its clients.”

Adrian Chotar joins the firm in Sydney, and is a seasoned technology lawyer with expertise in information security, telecommunications, complex technology and digital infrastructure projects. He advises both private and public sector clients on technology transactions across various industries, including health, transport, telecommunications, banking, and defence. He has led on significant telecommunications deals, including involving the national broadband network, and regularly advises on information security, privacy, cyber resilience, and data commercialisation

Adrian comments on joining Gadens:

“I am incredibly excited to be joining Gadens and at the prospect of helping its clients to maximise the opportunities of digital transformation and to effectively manage increased cyber and privacy risks. Gadens has an impressive team, strong culture and is highly focussed on delivering excellent legal services and achieving the best outcomes for its clients. I look forward to working with the team to continue to grow its technology practice and to contribute towards the firm’s growth as a leading Australian law firm.”

Mark Pistilli, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of Gadens, comments:

“Both Mitchell and Adrian bring unique skills and insights that contribute to our firm’s growing expertise and client offering in the technology sector. It is fantastic to have them join our growing partnership, and especially bolstering our capabilities in the ACT and NSW markets – two of our firm’s focus jurisdictions for sustainable business growth.

“We are excited about the future prospects that these new appointments bring and look forward to the valuable contributions of Mitchell and Adrian to our firm.”
