National law firm Mills Oakley is very pleased to announce the appointment of Brent Delaney and John Moutsopoulos to its Sydney office, continuing the firms’ partnership growth trajectory.
Brent Delaney moves to the firm following six years at Hamilton Locke, where he was a founding partner. Brent is a leading corporate M&A lawyer with a focus on servicing the region’s best growth companies, and the domestic and international institutions and funds that invest in them – from growth and private equity investments to strategic transactions and premium public markets deals.
John Moutsopoulos joins Mills Oakley from KPMG where he was the asset management and ESG lead. John works with his clients on sustainability related issues and investment transactions. He has a passion for the enormity of the climate risk and the opportunity and biodiversity challenges for asset owners and managers, which allows him to provide strategic outcomes for his clients.
Mills Oakley Chief Executive Officer John Nerurker welcomed Brent and John to the partnership. “The introduction of Brent and John to the partnership not only increases the capability of their respective teams, but also further boosts the firm’s reputation in the areas of Corporate Advisory and Financial Services, where we see great opportunities in the market,” Mr Nerurker said.
“Brent is highly respected in his field and brings with him an exceptional amount of experience which will continue to boost Mills Oakley’s corporate practice.
“John’s arrival boosts our financial services practice, an area which we have invested heavily in recently to ensure that we have national coverage for our clients in this space.
The appointments follow six recent additions to the partnership:
– Zein El Hassan joins the firm also from KPMG following partnership at Norton Rose Fulbright, Clayton Utz and Corrs Chambers Westgarth. A leading financial services lawyer with over 30 years’ experience, Zein advises on product development, licensing, disclosure and distribution issues relating to financial services and products.
– Linda Holland is a specialist in Construction Law, having practised exclusively in the area for 25 years. She joins the firm from Eakin McCaffery Cox where she brings a wealth of knowledge regarding the challenges faced by stakeholders in construction projects. Linda is excited by the opportunity to work with Mills Oakley’s Projects and Construction team.
– Scott Alden is an expert in Government Projects, an area in which he has specialised for more than 25 years. Scott has a particular focus on advising Government clients in relation to their procurement, commercial, project and probity requirements, and his expertise includes all aspects of a project’s lifecycle from inception, through contract negotiation and execution, advising on contract management and disputes to project completion. Scott joins from HWL Ebsworth Lawyers.
In addition to the new recruits, Mills Oakley has promoted three lawyers to the partnership, including Sally Baker in the Family Law team in Melbourne, Amy Burton, Partner, Pro Bono, and Adam Papaianni, in the Sydney Insurance team.
