International law firm Ashurst announces Ben Landau will be joining the firm as a partner in the corporate transactions team in Melbourne.
Ben is a highly experienced mergers and acquisitions practitioner joining the firm from Herbert Smith Freehills. His practice focuses on private equity transactions. His expertise spans all aspects on the life cycle of private equity, including private and public M&A, shareholder arrangements, management incentive plans and W+I insurance in both Australia and Asia. He also specialises in private investments and capital raisings.
Australia corporate transactions head, Elspeth Arnold, commented:
“We are delighted to be welcoming Ben to Ashurst. He is an exceptional practitioner, with recognised expertise in the PE market. Ben will further strengthen our global breadth in this area, as well as bringing energetic and commercial acumen. While based in our Melbourne office, Ben’s practice will further enhance Ashurst’s global reputation in private equity.”
Ben Landau said:
“Ashurst is in an exciting time of growth, with an excellent global private equity brand and with a particular focus on building the practice in Australia. Ashurst is an outstanding place in which I can continue to develop and grow my practice, deepen my client relationships as a partner, and contribute as part of a team to grow the firm’s broader corporate practice.”
Ben’s appointment follows the recent appointments of Greg Golding and Robert Hanley, as well as the promotion in 2019 of Lynda Tully and Anita Choi, as partners in the Australian corporate transactions team.
