Thomson Geer’s national Tax team is expanding, with the appointment of experienced and respected tax lawyer, Ron Jorgensen, as a partner.
Ron will be based in our Melbourne office, working alongside Tax partners Arthur Athanasiou, Jeff Chang and consultant Tony Pane.
Ron is an Accredited Tax Specialist with the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) like Arthur and Jeff – causing the office to have three of only 16 Victoria-wide!
LIV Accredited Specialists are considered leaders in their field, and need to meet strict experience, professional development and education criteria – and must apply for re-accreditation every three years.
Ron has more than 20 years of legal and tax experience, and specialises in tax dispute resolution and trusts. His main areas of focus are consulting on Commonwealth and State tax laws, tax dispute resolution, trusts and trust disputes, succession and asset protection, business and investment structuring and tax sensitive commercial and property transactions.
Ron is a Senior Fellow with the University of Melbourne lecturing in the University’s Masters program, and is a nationally respected technical writer and presenter. Ron is a member of The Tax Institute, and sits on the Institute’s Tax Technical Committee and State Taxes Committee in Victoria.
Chief Executive Partner, Adrian Tembel, said “We are very pleased to welcome Ron to our firm, bolstering our already strong national tax practice.”
